In addition to the deaths of the troopers and one other identified person, at least 34 people were injured in the car ramming and other violence.

A second eyewitness said that the helicopter crashed 15 yards in front of a home. He had just transferred to the Aviation Unit as a Trooper-Pilot in July.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash. "Berke was dedicated to our whole family as a major aspect of our Executive Protection Unit group for as long as three years".
